When are we going to hear the official pricing announcement, and more information straight from Ford? At the LA Auto Show in November? Or do I really have to wait until the Detroit show in January?
I'm guessing at Frankfurt they will make big announcements on other details that we don't know such as pricing.
I'd say few vehicles will be available for the media and journalists for test drives and first drive reviews would be written by then.
I read from another forum that would be when dealer order system will be open as well.
no it'll have recaros just potentially not those recaros... probably similar to the ones we get in the mustang... Something about the other ones not meeting crash regs or something...
Might not have to go "aftermarket" if a supplier sells the stock UK parts in the US. That's what I'm hoping for. A company like Mountune that is backed by ford, to carry items not offered to US dealerships as options like the Recaros. Nothing about it being an emissions item so no real reason it isn't sold in the US market other than maintaining the status of UK RS being better than US because more options. A lot like they did in the past, offering cars in UK that make ours look inferior.
Starting to wonder if anyone will be brave enough to customize the factory seats because I sure wouldn't mind having some suede inserts done in diamond stitching.
In all honesty I think these are going to be VASTLY more comfortable then the shells Europe will get...
The interior differs little from the Focus ST, save for some RS stickers and a preponderance of blue stitching. Sadly, the Recaro shell seats on the unveil car will not be coming to the U.S. as they do not comply with U.S. safety standards.
Those mustang seats with blue stitching in the Focus RS would be killer, only downside is you'll be sliding around on it more than you would with fabric seats.
All leather in a car you want to throw around will not keep you in your seat. I rather have suede, at least that will help hold you in and just overall do a better job at catering to the experience.
Is it possible those are stop gap, re wrapped ST seats for the pre proddy cars??? ANY reason to hold out hope LOL... Like those ST seats don't even look like racing buckets. more like regular seats with recaro logos stitched in...
I hope so they look to be the most appropriate for the RS and what will do the driver well when throwing it around and then of course for every day driving.
I think the last RS had them standard and they can't be that hard or costly to make as a standard feature. Even Subaru and Mitsubishi does this with their performance vehicles.
"The high-performance character is reflected in the cockpit, with heavily bolstered, partial-leather Recaro sport seats as the centerpiece. Signature RS Recaro shell seats with authenticmotorsport microfiber fabric panels are an option for customers in Europe and Asia while power leather seats will be available in North America."
