How many of you are planning to upgrade to the 235/35 R19 91Y Michelin Pilot Cup Sport 2 Summer Track Tire package?

It will make price jump by $1,990

yup. Again its not so much of an upgrade for us as thats the way it comes.
Not really worth it if you're not planning to take the car to track.
I would opt out if I had a choice in Canada.

That's what I was thinking and even for those random track days or days you find yourself on a twisty road, the other Michelin's offered should be more than fine.
Yea be careful with those PS2's They don't like cold, they don't like wet and they wear at an inordinate rate...I just don't see the benefit if you're going to use the RS as a daily driver...
No doubt.

They are good how ever if you just want a set for the track that you put on the day of. But some folks might prefer a different tire and opt for the entry-level tire form Ford.
Friend of mine had a set of PS2's on his M5, got less then 20K out of the rears... They are fantastic in dry and sunny conditions, but as mentioned above the PS2's don't really like anything not dry and sunny...

Look you won't crash immediately if you're out near the 0 degree mark (they really do get ROCK hard) or out in the rain, but they will require a bit more attention. Although nannies will help keep you from spinning up to bad in say cold/rainy conditions.

And thats not even mentioning the replacement costs of the Super Sports vs the Sport Cup 2's...
On the plus side at least they will be seemingly good to get more out of the RS, something probably best left to just the track and nice days.
Less then 20K for $1,990. Definitely not worth it unless you plan to take it out to the track every day.

You absolutely do not need to only get them if for daily track use, there are people who go every weekend or less frequent, then those that put them on for nice days where they hit up the nice driving roads.

First of all, the price only jumps that much if you put on the forged wheels. It's not the tires that cost that much more alone, that upgrade is only around $500.

Here is something to consider, the tire is the only thing that connects the car to the ground. Every driving input from, steering, braking and acceleration are all transmitted though the tires. You are spending close to $50K to get an ultra high performance car, why bother getting this car if you are gonna cheap out on the tires? It just means you won't be able to get the performance you are paying for, to the ground.

Yes, the PS2's will wear out faster than the Supersports but, in order to achieve that kind of stickiness they need to.

The forged wheels are also well worth the money because, any good aftermarket forged wheel would cost you at least that. They also reduce unsprung weight, which is way more valuable than sprung weight in terms of performance and efficiency.

This option is a no brainer. The only reason you don't take this option, is if you plan on buying the car strictly for show. Otherwise, some of the best money you can spend on a factory upgrade.

IMHO, the Super Sports are the best all around tires for street use. I have used the Cup tires in the past and while they are awesome on the track, they will only last 10 to 15K miles. I did go with the lightweight forged wheels...

That they are, a lot of guys rave about them and for very good reason, just about every community a vehicle as potent as the RS you will find super sports mentioned and raved about.
Cup Sport 2, are absolutely worthless in the rain. Had Super Sport on my MR and they had excellent grip and run quiet.
