RS vs M2??

As I'm sure most of you know BMW has the M2 arriving shortly. While there is a difference in price, the amount of markup being asked by some dealers over MSRP brings the two closer together and could in fact influence people to swap...

So, M2 or RS? (although I think I know which way the bias will go ;))

I saw a poll choosing between the two vehicles on AutoGuide. In that poll, which I assume is less biased than one posted on our forum, the Focus RS is ahead as well by about 2:1.

The way I see it, if you wanted an RS but couldn't order due to closed books, then the M2 is a great alternative. If Ford does continue to produce them in more numbers than originally mentioned then just go for the RS!

I just wouldn't want to own it much longer after the warranty period is up, after that the RS will start looking far better.
Interesting question and comparison as I have just put a deposit down on both cars. If the Ford doesn't arrive in Australia before June 2016 then I'll go for the M2. They are both amazing cars so I figure I can't go wrong.

did you consider the CTR? Hustled the nurburgring quicker then the M2... ;)
Anyone who don't exactly need all the space the RS has, a BMW 1M, if you can find one, is going to be a good toy to consider. Great thing about them, value is only going to either go up or stay at a range that your wife will be happy with ;)

The Civic just doesn't appeal, my current car is a Renault RS250, I have owned an A45 (hated the paddle shift), driven the M235i (loved the engine and RWD) and am looking for something different to the AWD/FWD hot hatch formula currently available from Mercedes, VW, Audi etc. My first "must have" was for it to be a manual but if the RS can really deliver on the 70% power to the rear claim and is not too compromised on the road, then it will be a very special car.

I have a 1M track car that I will be keeping when I get my RS. Prices for most used 1Ms are still well above what they were when new. My 1M is a great track car, at least as fast as most E92 M3s.

have you watched the latest rebirth of an icon? they show a bit of development work, they tell how their ideal was when you step on the gas say mid corner it will behave like a RWD push...

Now that is amazing. Feel free to post about it here, i'm sure all, if not, most of us will want to see it, after all we are interested in performance the RS has... 1M just naturally falls in :D

Yes really enjoyed the story showing the history of the car. The main reason I ordered one was the potential for it to drive from the rear. Crossing everything it can deliver like this in the real world....
I just prefer Ford because it is less about "luxury". For me, most of that luxury stuff is just unneeded and put in there to make things cost more.

But when it comes to vehicles like these, luxury is just an extra, the real focus is on the performance each delivers.
