Rebirth of an Icon 5: Arctic Extremes

2593 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  ExtremeFocus

Michigan to Germany to Arizona to Belgium and now we're with the team as they take the RS to the arctic circle.

8 months out from the start of performance and the RS team has prototypes in Sweden undergoing extreme weather testing while still trying to dial in and turn up the performance even further.

Big boss of Ford Performance Raj Nair is not happy, between the last time we saw the team in Lommel, Belgium and the trip to Sweden the issues have begun to pile up. First a chassis issue was skewing vehicle dynamics and now they have issues with the powertrain...

Check back next week as we head to England working on launch control and head back to Germany to get the assembly line ready.

man some of those scenes are just asking to be giffed ;) I loved the part when they said were already better then the competition, but we're not happy...
So you still get to have fun performance driving even in winter Arctic temperatures. Great news for us Canadians.

Some great footage with drones in this video that wouldn't have been possible just a few years ago.
Think we'll need to put the highest grade fuel at the pump into the production model if 95 Octane was not good enough for the development engine?
Glad to get a preview of what my winter parking lot fun could be like, since of course doing this on the street can get us into trouble.

I think its safe to say that you won't be putting regular into it.
Of course not regular but will 91 be good enough?
