Is anyone else really worried about this subtle bit of information? If this is the cause, I guess I can kiss my RS goodbye.

But with those numbers, it'll weed out anyone who doesn't really want it as bad as others, those who do won't have much of a problem paying in full or slightly more if they have to.Exclusivity is nice, but only if I end up getting one of the few. This also means that you can kiss discounts good bye. Those 2,000 models will be in high demand. I don't think dealers will be struggling to get them off the lot.
Didn't think they would limit it quite that much.
The only problem I see with this is the big IF you can get your hands on one. If there are only 2000 available lets do some math. There are approx. 3000-3500 ford dealers in the US. Figuring that about 500 RS's will be sold to media reviewers and be reserved for ford employees, that leaves bout 1500 for the general public. So about half of the dealers in all the US will receive ONE RS to be sold. Now I bet, if your lucky, you can go to a dealer near you and "pre-order" one. I went to the large volume dealer near me, and the salesman was completely oblivious as to what the RS even was. I still highly doubt if the initial 2000 is the number that I will even see one.All of us should be jubilant -- this bodes extremely well for resale value, and we get to take advantage of that high resale as the first owner. Go buy your new Focus RS, drive it around for a few years, and lose relatively less compared to most cars, while benefiting from an incredible experience, with warranty the whole time.
Anyone here who wants one will be able to get one, as long as you start making moves now with your local larger dealer. Don't buy into the hype.

Yea but he's talking about getting one from the dealer, not the eventuality that one will end up on eBay in a year or three. They'll hit eBay and AutoTrader soon enough. Every car does, including cars that are much rarer. Don't be worried.
