Hi Everyone,
Just like everyone else on the forum I'm REALLY looking forward to picking up an RS when they get to the US, I will be keeping my BRZ as a daily driver to get to work and such and use the RS for the rest of the time and for FUN of course.

Question for any resident experts out there - Will the early adopters have to pay a premium when the RS is released (I paid 3k over MSRP for the BRZ when it was released)

I won't be surprised if that premium happens, along with a deposit that helps in attracting only those truly serious about getting one

With those two, the BRZ and RS, your garage will be one great looking one!
Did you do any modifications to your BRZ?

The premium is totally up to the dealers. If the demand is high enough that they can get people to pay that price then dealers will do it. I am not expecting that to happen though.

I hope your right about the premium, I did it once and I really would prefer not to do it again, I guess it all depends on how many are available when it first comes out.

No mod's to the BRZ, its a nice car but boy is it slow, it really needs another 100BHP.

not true, the premium is up to the consumers. The more shoppers demanding the limited (comparatively) stock is what incentivizes the dealers to charge markups. Lets not totally demonize the dealers as it takes two to tango...

Cali is indeed a great place to be, especially if your a car/bike/powersports/etc enthusiast.

OK, you are just playing semantics. Dealers choose to raise the price if there is enough demand. Its just the laws of supply and demand.

Don't rob yourself of agency, shoppers dictate the demand, if you didn't want one and neither did the 12 people in line with you there is little incentive. Like I said above, it takes two to tango

We agree, I don't understand what you are trying to prove that I haven't already agreed to. When there is high demand and low supply, dealers will raise prices just like with any other product. Its the laws of economics. If you really want it enough then you will pay the extra money.

I wouldn't pay extra for a Focus RS. I would rather wait for the initial buying surge to finish and then come back later when the demand is a bit less and there isn't a premium. I'm not sure how much the wait would be, but I like to think I can be patient.

Im new here. lol. I went for a 14 mustang Gt instead of the BRZ. My 8 years stint of driving WRX's and I decided for a change.

Not bad of a change over.

Not long from now options will get better with the Camaro coming out and a really cheap budget model, going to get harder for Subaru and Scion to stand out.

Did you have anything done to your WRX's?

depends on which one. lol. my first 02 i went balls out on. upgraded turbo, front mount, full catless exhaust. The other 2 were just turbo back exhaust and suspension.
