Hey all, I'm pretty stoked about this car and I think it's going to be the one to finally make me get rid of my 2007 cobalt ss lol. I'm looking forward to getting out of the FWD game and into this car. I've also been following the Aftermarket development of this engine in the mustang and the future looks very promising!

Here's to maybe seeing some more MD folks around:)

Yea I think there will be plenty of exciting things you can do with the Focus RS after market. Really looking forward to that. Anything in particular that peaks your interest in the after market?

Welcome to the boards guy, friend of mine used to have a Cobalt SS in college. Fond memories of that little rocket. Coupe or Sedan?

Nice Avi BTW LOL

Idk, we'll see what peeks my interest when the car gets launched. I'm more of a autocross and road race guy so suspension mods will be high on my list but I def will need a new exhaust and dyno tune and see where I go from there:)

2007 ss coupe with too much money dumped in it :( I think I'm finally ready to part ways with it and jump into something a bit more aggressive:D

And thx about my avi :D

So its kinda like you are going to be inspired by the ingredients. Perfect.

You'd go for a stiffer suspension I assume to add to the sportiness?
Yea, anything to reduce body roll and wheel hop. After watching the helm cam of kens hill climb I think I'll need to replace the shifter for a shorter one as well. All just speculation but I'll have to see how I feel when I actually sit in the car

I was surprised as well, not as short as I thought the throws would be.

Welcome to the boards!
Some folks by default might want to go short anyways for that easy and quickness of shifting.
Is your 07 Cobalt SS the supercharged one? I think I remember those SS models being supercharged first, and then they replaced the motor with a turbocharged engine shared with the HHR (I think).

There was also a year or 2 they didn't offer the SS, only Sport Coupe or something...

On another note I think GM is missing out by not having a Cruze Coupe or at least a hatch...
That Code 103R coupe might have been what put them off from expanding the Cruze line up to also include a coupe, but last I checked the 103R went completely off the table.

I remember Cobalt doing well with street presence, seen a lot of them on the road.
