The lowered stance looks good here. Often I think the lowered look just looks forced and non-practical, but this image makes it not look silly. Agreed that different wheels could be a good choice. Black looks way better. I mean, there is just no chrome anywhere else on the RS so it looks out of place. No continuity.
While lowered/stanced looks good, I rather reserve that to a vehicle that doesn't pack nearly as much potential as this does. Finding that medium of a nice wheel and tire setup that still allows for pushing the RS how it was meant to be is where it's really at #BecauseRaceCar
Ok so raise it an inch. Doesn't the lowers stance help aerodynamics? Or am I making that up? :S
I don't want the wheels to look like they don't fit in the wheel wells, but other than that I think it's great. you have to be able to make it over speed bumps too.
White lettering could work. Personally, I wouldn't want to make things too busy (although you could). If you go with white lettering on the tires then you just can't make as much a statement with other parts of the car.
Stunning!
Wheels are perfect if you are going for that look. My setup will be slight different. wider/aggressive is the goal.
anyone know what the go is with suspension modification, obviously these cars have quite a superior factory suspension setup allowing for different adjustments through each map setting?
wonder if they are height adjustable?, or is there a kit which you can swap out for lower springs but keep the factory electric system.
Not my thing at all, but "Live and let live" isn't a bad credo to follow.
I imagine it would be difficult to get good suspension control with very limited vertical wheel travel, and the lower you go the less travel you have to manage bump absorption. Maybe adjustable air-bag suspension would allow adequate ride height when in motion, and lower it down for the desired look when stationary ? I'm not sure what all the std FoRS electronic brains (the ones that control torque vectoring etc) would think of such changes though.
This seems to be the best idea if you plan to lower the RS that much. Without adjustable air-bag suspension you'd probably get stuck at the next speed bump or angled driveway.
The Focus RS is already quite powerful, but people are definitely going to modify it. Those modifications will void warranty in many cases. Which is fine as long as nothing goes wrong. Replacing parts in the Focus RS could be very, very expensive. I'd just be careful and cognisant of possible warranty issues.
And I would be careful of Dealerships that state when they place a after market part on your car, that it will not "VOID" your Warranty. The dealer applies for reimbursement for replacement cost for repairs to FORD MFG . If the FORD MFG. says "NO" do to you placing aftermarket parts on your car. They can "VOID" your warranty. PERIOD !! This is speaking from experience.
Good reason for always getting things in writing. At least that way if they do happen to be wrong and it impacts your warranty then you'll be in the clear although it might take some work to get back in the clear.
Yes, but i'm thinking it should be a last resort since it is an old wheel and something you already see on a lot of cars on the street and even online, much like BBS LM wheels and that whole phase they went through.
If you have any suggestions feel free to send it my way.
That's a really nice example of a custom Focus. It is unique but not over done. The parts are cool but not ostentatious. I like the small bits of yellow for color.
HRE is a great brand but the cost of their wheels alone will make some people here reconsider, mostly been seeing them on high trim BMW's and BMW M cars.
