Ken Block and Focus RS at Goodwood

As part of its UK debut, Ken Block drives a pre-production Ford Focus RS up the hill on Day Two at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2015, getting it sideways in the process as you'd expect after watching his Gymkhana films.


Meanwhile, just a week before, in preparation for its initial UK appearance, the RS was put through its paces at Lommel Proving Grounds, with ESP and Traction Control Systems deactivated :D

Focus RS Power & Torque Figures Confirmed

Following its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Ford finally confirmed the numbers as 345 horsepower and 324 torque. This comes months after Accidental Horsepower Rating Leak by Ford Ireland with them later responding with "we are guaranteeing it will at least be over 315 hp. Our final numbers will come closer to launch.”

Focus RS Testing on the Nurburgring

Earlier this month a short video clip of the RS in action on the 'ring was published. Reported observations describe the RS seen here as the following:

"planted and purposeful"
"it doesn’t lose traction once in the short video"
"At nine seconds into the video, you will notice how the rear ever so slightly steps out but it’s quickly brought back in line"

As part of the Ford Performance Ken Block Experience Sweepstakes, 2 Focus RSs will be up for grabs. On the Monster Energy outlining the sweepstakes overview, a mention of "2,000 Ford Focus RSs that will FINALLY be making their way to the US next year!" was discovered, went viral and later removed!

Anyone watching that video of the RS and hearing how it sounds shouldn't just stop their, being filmed with a GoPro, sound quality probably wasn't that great, not as great as with other videos.

And this comes during the most exciting point in the Focus RSs timeline: showing up at a public event in motion on camera, at the ring' and running the hill!
