According to Wards Auto the Focus RS is nearing the start of production!
The first cars should be in American hands by Spring 2016. “We are not dumbing the car down for North America,” said Joel Hameedi, Ford Performance chief engineer. “We get the same tuning as Europe.”
Hameedi also says that the RS excksuive front/rear subframe braces and structural foam adds 9% torsional rigidity vs the ST. A further 23% over the standard Focus.
We're not sure of Saarlouis' official first date of production (for customer cars) but we'll let you know as soon as we find out.
Can't wait to start seeing pictures of these awaiting transit and in transit, there's is a chance of the former happening, a gear head on that end needs to make it happen
Will be cool to see an entire parking lot full of them just waiting to be shipped to every corner of the continent. Then we can start ogling over the different mods that people do.
I used to work at Michigan assembly where they built the standard focus, ST and C-Max where they would push out anywhere between 600 and 650 cars per night maybe 40 or so on the st maybe more just depended on sales
Glad to have someone here who was on the inside, do you still keep in contact with people that work at that same assembly plant? It would go a long way in getting some important information from them
Car makers and dealership groups have lots of parking lots for vehicles, you'd be surprised. Some on-site with production and some at remote locations.
Yes but the only info.i could get you would be on the vehicles listed above they said nothing about the rs because it is being built in germany. If you want any info though let me know.
