I'm just curious exactly how much extra performance they would get out of it. The Focus RS is already so fast, and making it even more powerful would be crazy. I want to see it in action. I want to try it out. And I am also interested in how much it would cost because tuning kits can vary in price by a lot.

How do you know its so fast if you haven't driven one? Why is it crazy... I mean one could argue that buying a $40K hatchback is pretty crazy when a Corolla will shuffle you from A to B just the same...

Depends what they do, all Cobb has shown us is that they're working on something. They, like you don't have the car either...
is cosworth still tight with ford?
Wouldn't it be hard to tune the Fopcus RS because it's using a new twin-scroll turbocharger and a larger compressor?

It all comes back to the ECU, so with that level of tuning on the ECU unit, we should be able to get out of it the power we want.

We have seen the Focus RS in action in videos, and I am aware of the horsepower which makes me pretty confident that the car is going to be fast enough for me to be impressed. Crazy is a subjective term. I don't really think I need to defend my use of it. Crazy for me, not for you. Whatever.

ECU tunes are more effective on FI cars then they are on NA. there are more variables and what nots to fiddle with...
Cosworth is already on board with the Focus RS. The 2016 Focus RS uses a heavy duty block with Cosworth designed cylinder liners and the cylinder head on the new engine is entirely a Cosworth design.

I would think that most tuning houses would do something with the Focus RS. It is a great canvas. I'm sure pretty soon we will see a whole bunch of customized and tuned Focus RSs. I can't wait.

But I thought you said it's crazy because the RS is already fast enough?
Also can't wait to see what various tuning shops do since they can bring together some creative configurators with what's going to be on the market and things that can be done that's unique to the vehicle they put together.

The thing I'm concerned about is the rumors that the car can't handle much more power without an entire transmission gearbox quaffie overhaul. It's enough to make one nervous when pushing it too 400-450hp torque numbers which is where a stage 3 Cobb protuned should easily be.
A good indication of this will be keeping an eye out on what hennessey performance does since they're quick to tune new cars, their business depends on getting in early. If their hesitant, that might be a good confirmation of this.
Cosworth needs to get on board with the RS!
Cosworth already worked on the engine to bring the power up to where it is in the RS Focus, from the standard Mustang engine.
I was thinking about something more, like a higher output kit.

But was the standard Mustang engine already factory tuned for optimal performance? That one may have had more wiggle room.
