Talk to the Sales Manager at the dealership I had my order at. He threw hugely inflated ADM expectations at me. This wasn't discussed when I placed my order a month ago. The expectations that were set when I ordered was up to $5k above MSRP. That's a real crappy deal but it's the best I could do in my local market area. I didn't have a signed sales contract or anything, just a VOC and a DORA
Spoke to the SM last Friday and he said because demand was so high he was going to charge me $25k ADM! I asked if he was joking and he said no, he was confident that he could get that much markup. I told him not from me! I canceled my order on the spot!
Eff Ford in the neck with a fork! I hope this Sales Manager slides under a truck and tastes his own blood. Fricken Dealers!
You are telling me that the dealer tried to charge you an extra $25k? That is absolutely ridiculous! borderline unethical. I'm not even sure who would pay that for it.
Wow, that's the largest markup I've seen and a very underhanded move. I really doubt anyone is going to pay a 25k markup for the Focus RS.
Maybe you'll find one at another dealership later on where they won't rip you off so much.
Man, that's harsh. Call around to some other dealers. I ordered mine just this week and had no issues getting it for MSRP. You should be able to find an honest dealer that wont try and gouge you.
I would have cancelled too!!! Absolutely ridiculous.
I agree with the others -- call around to other dealers. If you keep calling around your state, I'm sure you'll find a dealer who will sell you one at MSRP.
A bidding structure is a better strategy than a flat $25k markup. Is anyone even willing to pay that. Think about all the other people out there that are going to get the exact same vehicle for way less money.
Not even going to bother - Ford lost my business, I bought something else. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops and contact customer support just to be treated fairly so that I have the honor of giving them $40k+
I hope you guys enjoy your RS when it finally arrives
I might be on the same path to not get the RS, but the only thing stopping me is the next Civic Type R. So i'll be deciding between the two. Hopefully the RS will still be available by then.
