Canceled my order

Talk to the Sales Manager at the dealership I had my order at. He threw hugely inflated ADM expectations at me. This wasn't discussed when I placed my order a month ago. The expectations that were set when I ordered was up to $5k above MSRP. That's a real crappy deal but it's the best I could do in my local market area. I didn't have a signed sales contract or anything, just a VOC and a DORA

Spoke to the SM last Friday and he said because demand was so high he was going to charge me $25k ADM! I asked if he was joking and he said no, he was confident that he could get that much markup. I told him not from me! I canceled my order on the spot!

Eff Ford in the neck with a fork! I hope this Sales Manager slides under a truck and tastes his own blood. Fricken Dealers!

You are telling me that the dealer tried to charge you an extra $25k? That is absolutely ridiculous! borderline unethical. I'm not even sure who would pay that for it.
Wow, that's the largest markup I've seen and a very underhanded move. I really doubt anyone is going to pay a 25k markup for the Focus RS.
Maybe you'll find one at another dealership later on where they won't rip you off so much.
I know location and demand is a big factor in the ADM but seriously... 25K? Its not a freaking Ford GT!? Look for another dealership to deal with!

$25k is nuts, you can buy a ton of things with that. Sounds like they mistakenly added one more zero to the end that they shouldn't have.

OMG, how NASTY...

Although that's one dealer, not at all indicative of what Ford the manufacturer wants... Look for another dealer dude...
Man, that's harsh. Call around to some other dealers. I ordered mine just this week and had no issues getting it for MSRP. You should be able to find an honest dealer that wont try and gouge you.

Check with Ford in Vermillion and Medicine Hat, Alberta. Last week both had an allocated RS available. Probably no ADM.
I would have cancelled too!!! Absolutely ridiculous.

I agree with the others -- call around to other dealers. If you keep calling around your state, I'm sure you'll find a dealer who will sell you one at MSRP.

Also, contact Ford asap. See my post in this thread:

A bidding structure is a better strategy than a flat $25k markup. Is anyone even willing to pay that. Think about all the other people out there that are going to get the exact same vehicle for way less money.

Oh sorry I thought you were in Vancouver, BC.
FNH, I think you more than anyone have the right to email corporate about the dealership's sales method here: https://corporate.ford.com/contact-us.html?contactMainTopic=VehicleServiceIssues

Think Ford can allot one Focus RS just for you? They do ask you what you want from them; "What assistance are you seeking from Ford Motor Company?"
I might be on the same path to not get the RS, but the only thing stopping me is the next Civic Type R. So i'll be deciding between the two. Hopefully the RS will still be available by then.

Not even going to bother - Ford lost my business, I bought something else. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops and contact customer support just to be treated fairly so that I have the honor of giving them $40k+

I hope you guys enjoy your RS when it finally arrives

Exactly what I thought, they're in the business of making money should make their best effort to serve customers willing to SPEND. This is probably the sort of experience that pushes people away from American car makers to the Japanese and even German brands.
Ford should learn from Lexus' customer service. They win every year so they're doing something right.
Wow, $25K markup is a joke. At that price point, you could get an M235i fully loaded.
