Sounds like the seller does not know much about the car. It's an early homologation special (1 of the first 2500 produced), which were produced to meet FIA requirements for competition in GrpA & GrpN rallies. Only two more years until enthusiasts in the United States can import it! Only 1994 and 1995 cars are legal for US conversion. And the changes required would decrease the value.
