The reason I ask is because I know that SVT and Shelby vehicles are restricted to Ford performance dealers...Will Ford be pursuing a strategy similar, or will they allocate at least one to each dealer and allow order to come from any store?

I talked with the local salesman at the dealer, who said he believed any dealership should be able to order the Focus RS (although he'd get me the best deal ;) ). He added that Focus RS production is not going to be limited. This will be a regularly available model like the Focus ST.

Being a much more attainable model, making it more widely available is a good move on Fords part, which is what i hope actually happens.

I have to doubt they're going to just churn them out, unlimited on a built to order basis I can believe however...

I'm thinking that there won't be a lot of these just in stock at all the dealers, but hopefully you'll be able to order it into any dealer that you may want.

that would be a good start to having a stronger demand for future production runs of the RS, the start now might be slow but it'll at least help the RS get noticed as much as it can

Next day after the lunch in Germany I went to a Montreal Ford dealer and put a deposit on the RS. They didn't have more information than I had but they said that they should at least get one.

The build numbers are already likely to be firmly established, it's unlikely that they will build an unlimited quantity to order.

The expected range of cars available is on the order of around 6000 cars for North America, or about 1/2 to 1/3 the total Focus ST production from 2013.

It's enough that any dealer could get 1-2 examples perhaps, but not enough that everyone can walk out and buy one.

Well it's great to know that the RS will be a lot easier to find and purchase. That helps me out a lot being based outside the of US.

I know in the UK they're typically only available through special RS dealers... I think the US has a similar system with SVT dealers...

I thought I read on another thread that some dealerships were not going to be allotted any. Is that wrong, or can both these things be true at the same time?
