If only that was my area ...
Looks like they're asking for $5k over and another was asking over $10k. No thanks.

Ultimate fail, I just realized that converted to approx $54k CAD
I got a call from Sunrise Ford Fontana on Friday. They had two available. I checked their website today and there's only one left: http://www.sunrisefordfontana.com/inventory/New-2016-Ford-Focus-RS-WF0DP3TH7G4113945/

I don't know how much they're charging over MSRP but the person I spoke with on the phone said between 3 and 6 grand. I made up my mind three weeks back and bought a Golf R so I'm no longer in the market for RS, but if I was I guess 3,000 over MSRP is something I would consider.

$3k over msrp reall isn't that bad indeed, But how are you enjoying that Golf R ?
I have a lead on one already available but Not the color I wanted. It's stealth and has RS2. I ordered NB with Forged and sunroof. I'm still thinking about it.

I couldn't be happier with my choice. What they say about the lack of driving engagement is absolutely true, but only if you get the DSG. I got mine with manual transmission and DCC and it's a blast.

It took me months to decide between the RS and R and it was an exhausting process to say the least. I will share the details on how I came to my final decision in the tread that I started, Focus RS vs Golf R, hoping to help everyone who is trying to decide between the two hatches.

The VW dealer has also been texting me about the R. They received one with the options I want but my order is still in place for the RS. It was tempting though. Then yesterday we picked up a new Mercedes and the dealer was giving me a deal on a GLA250 with AMG package. Everything for a deal but I didn't cave but it's now on my mind.

I can only imagine how tough of a decision that would be, but I'm glad you're happy with the choice you made. Definitely waiting to see the thought process behind pulling the trigger

The GLA250 with the AMG package does not seem like a bad idea at all.. That's something that would keep me up at night man

Absolutely it has kept me up. Even though it has the infotainment from the prior year, that interior and whole system was nice! Only thing I worry about is value. I think the RS will hold a whole lot better.

The RS will most definitely hold it's value for longer. German vehicles in the whole are horrible at holding their value.. you can get a 2013 C63 AMG for under $45k CAD now. They were starting at close to $80k CAD brand new.

You are right about German cars and depreciation. You can get a 2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo for $50k - They were over $150k new. $100,000 lost in just 4 years (ouch!)

That's the only thing keeping me in place and the fact that I've been waiting for this car since I can remember.

For sure. That's the other thing too though, once they hit a certain age I would be very weary of buying one used. Maintenance/Repair bills are crazy on them. But the RS has been highly anticipated

I've been trying to get my wife to get rid of our 2006 Audi A3 but she likes it too much. So I got all the service done including timing belt to a tune of $1500. It's been a very good car. I bought it new 10 yrs ago. Now has 110k miles. I'll have to keep it a while. But I did warn her of being kicked out of the garage soon. Very soon I hope.

Nice ! Well that's the other thing, clearly you've maintained it very well since owning it brand new. But I can't imagine getting one that has probably gone through multiple hands.

But if you kick it out, what do you plan on getting for the wife ?

I acyually found a lease returned 2013 328i with 21k miles for $22k. Nicely packaged in light blue. But she turned it away. I wanted the Audi as my daily and give my Nissan to my sister but that didn't fly. So I'm selling my truck for the RS.
