It's now official.

The new hot hatch, which is due Stateside in the spring of 2016, accelerates from 0-62 mph in just 4.7 seconds when using the car’s launch control system. That’s quicker by a few tenths of a second than the times of key rivals like the Subaru WRX STI and Volkswagen Golf R, though the Ford has considerably more power on tap. The top speed is listed as 165 mph.

I caught wind of that last night but I don't have privileges to post yet! That's good news. So that's the 0-100 km/h time, so the 0-60 will probably be 4.5-4.6. Impressive! I can see it hitting 165 no problem as my old ST hit 155. The funny thing is that my E2 M3 was limited to 161 MPH, which I hit a few times. A Focus can outrun my old M3 - that is hilarious!

Another bit of cool news is that the AWD system only adds 44 pounds. That is mind boggling.
That 0-62 time is fine with me. I'm glad we get to see it happen instead of just being told about it too.

Good find. I'm surprised as **** that peak power is a 6800 RPM. That's good stuff, turbo engines don't usually like to rev like that. The ST could redline at 6800 but peak power was much lower, like 5500.

Thanks for posting :)

I read last night that they will have some sort of shift indicator set at 5900 for optimum performance. i dont quite understand that if the max power is at 6800. Perhaps someone could explain.

Yeah, 6800 sounds too good to be true. Maybe the video was wrong? It happens.
Mystery solved, it was a typo on Ford's video. The revised video says "peak power at 6000 RPM"
