I was phoned by the dealer in the UK today, which my RS is on order with. He offer me an extra option which Ford has introduced called the Windsor Pack, he explained this included heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. I think in the USA your seats are already heated but I am not sure about the steering wheel. It will be interesting to see if this option is offer anywhere else in the world.
Many thanks for that information. Ford is tailoring the packages for the countries it's sell the RS in. I asked in the UK about the winter tyre package and was told it's not available here.
I remember my older vehicle that had heated seats. They would only turn on when you were sitting on it. I used to put books on the seat when I started it in the morning and run back in the house and wait
So I got a call back from the dealer. They were reassuring me af my order. I had little doubt since I've verified the order with Ford Service but it was nice they called. Also, I know the guy that knows the guy that orders the cars. ;D
So when is your car due? I was told here in the UK the delivery to the customer is around 12 weeks after the build date. There is a lot more ocean between you and the factory so it may take longer.
Just got a call for an available alocation only it has the RS2 Package plus the wheel and sunroof. So it added the RS2. I said I'll take it if available. It should be here in 2 weeks.
She hasn't called me back. I hope nobody had put a deposit on it yet. I was hoping to have the car for the summer. Apparently someone ordered black and they built an NB and the buyer backed out.
She was off today and sent her an email. She's really been the easiest to deal with. Always a call back or email on updates. I hope it goes thru. Crossing my fingers.
Sorry, Red Leader. For some reason my acct here wont let me sign in. Had to re-register.
Anyway. I don't know how you guys do it. I'm a month into my order and I'm getting cranky as heck. I've always been able to just buy cars off the lot. This waiting thing is trying. Lol
The new passwords issued were a pain in the lower rear region. I think you know the area I mean. The lower case L and the uppercase i looked the same in the generated passwords. I did sent an email to the administration person about this.
I have never waited as long for a new car as this one, typically in the past four to five months. I let you know in another three months how I'm coping with the wait.
I hear you. And yeah, keep us updated. Alos, I'm following what'sgoing on with the dyno numbers on the car on another forum and it's getting people thinking. It's really erratic. I hope Ford performance or Mountune clears it up.
If you get any more information on the dyno numbers it would be worth posting it on the Forum as I think we are all confused. There is a lot of confusion over the numbers.
You got it. One of the guys that picked up his RS has taken it for some 1/4 mile runs and has a dyno at his place. Boost seems erratic as he noted and ran into the same issues as a shop car being tested. Let's hope it's a simple update to software needed.
Not sure if you are seeing the spectacle that is the unknown progress of the RS builds but a lot of us selected for scheduling folks can't get answers from Ford. No one has info if they are building our cars or not so we can get an allocated order for 2017. Even case managers are clueless. It's really bad. This whole process is a mess. I hope you guys don't have to go through it. It's a joke.
The latest news I had from my UK Ford Dealer last week was my car build date was now out to November 16, delivery would be around 12 weeks after the build was complete. Delivery date to me around February 17. When I asked why the delivery date had move out, I was told the factory was shutting for three week for holidays.
This is normally the period used by the manufacturers to tool up for the next year's model changes. I am hoping that SYNC3 will be introduced for the UK RS, currently it's been in delivered with SYNC2. As Ford customers in the UK we have no access to any delivery or build system, if you want an update you have to ask the Dealer. The only good news was the Dealer confirmed that I do have an allocated  car
